Portia was pleased to hear that the Deepwater Container Terminal (DCT) at Gdansk in Poland has announced that it handled 2,092,432 TEU in 2021, marking a new annual record surpassing the previous high of 2 million TEU, set in 2019.
This performance also represents an increase of 5% compared to the previous year, despite the challenges induced by the Covid-19 pandemic.
“This achievement testifies to the confidence and trust our clients have in DCT Gdansk, coupled with DCT’s high-quality services and its excellent location,” stated Charles Baker, CEO of DCT.
Portia are delighted to have played its part in the development of this highly successful project, having provided 2 RTITB Qualified Training Instructors during the Pre-Start-Up Phase. Our Trainers were deployed over a 3-month period and successfully delivered a training programme for STS and RTG drivers which enabled the container handling operations at DCT to start in efficient and safe manner.
