Portia attended the Port Skills and Safety (PSS) Annual Conference in London yesterday. The conference was well-attended, proving popular with members once again. The morning session featured several extremely interesting presentations.
The afternoon session saw the first PSS Awards Ceremony. The top three nominated companies in each award category (Best Safety Moment, Best Skills Initiative, and Best Collaboration) gave mini-presentations before the members voted for the winner in each category. Congratulations to both the nominees and the winners!
PSS and all its members are working collaboratively to improve safety and provide skills within the UK Maritime Sector. They are united in driving the sector forward. Portia fully supports the work that PSS and its members are doing on skills within the Port Sector.
Like PSS and its members, Portia understands the current issues surrounding safety and skills in the Port Sector. They are all keen to see a sharing of best practices around these two crucial elements.
Portia is working closely with PSS and fellow members to enable international clients to benefit from training delivered to UK standards and certification.
