Portia and Peel Ports were delighted to host a delegation from the Maputo Port Development Company (MPDC) and the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) during a 2-day visit to the Port and City of Liverpool. MPDC delegates were in the UK as part of the London International Shipping Week and on their fact finding mission in the Port of Liverpool, they visited a number of terminals including Biomass, T1 and T2 Container Terminals.
MPDC delegates discussed a range of topics including digitalisation, automation, civil engineering, labour allocation and vessel mooring. Additional discussions centred around institutional capacity building and strengthening internal capabilities, especially in operational management. Portia would like to thank Peel Ports Group for supporting this successful visit and in particular Damian Cross (Head of Containers Technology and Automation Strategy) and Paul Elliot (IT Manager) for their sterling efforts.
