Port of Iskenderun fire extinguished

Great to see some good news, in that the major fire in the Port of Iskenderun, Turkey has been extinguished.

Turkish air force and army aircraft dropped fire retardant into the centre of the terminal’s container storage area, in an effort to assist the port in containing the blaze.

The Port has suffered severe structural damage, and the timeline for the resumption of commercial port services is unknown and very much dependent on an assessment of the damage.

We wish our “friends” in Iskenderun Port well with the major tasks ahead.
