Portia has commenced a 3-year contract to manage and operate the Port of Port of Spain. Portia has put in place an executive management team that will focus on bringing container operations up to international standards and increasing the port’s role as a regional transshipment hub. Portia’s remit also includes the management and operations of all Break Bulk and Ro/Ro operations along with a Container Freight Station.
Portia will be instrumental in developing the Port’s safety strategy and policy in relation to the new OSHA legislation that the T&T Government has recently put into statute.
Training programmes will also be developed by Portia to assist this strategy and improve the capabilities of equipment drivers.
